Itinerary

Day 1: Broome to Fitzroy Crossing (L, D), departs 7:45am
This morning we set off on our Kimberley adventure heading north to Willare Bridge, we cross the mighty Fitzroy River, before arriving at Fitzroy Crossing. We travel out to Geikie Gorge to enjoy a picnic lunch before joining the National Park Ranger for a fascinating cruise down the Fitzroy River, spot geological sea fossils, crocodiles, exotic birds and other native animals. From here it's only a short drive to the Fitzroy River Lodge for our overnight stay. Tonight get to know your fellow travellers while enjoying a campfire barbecue dinner prepared by your driver/guide.

Day 2: Fitzroy Crossing to Bungle Bungle Ranges (B, L, D)
Today we set off along the Great Northern Highway passing through Halls Creek; we make a brief stop at the unusual geological formation, China Wall. It's time now to tackle the rugged road into the Purnululu National Park, recently listed as a World Heritage site, this spectacular wilderness park is the home of the Bungle Bungle Ranges. More than 20 million years of erosion and river movements have formed these huge black and orange striped domes. This afternoon enjoy an easy paced walk into the stunning Echidna Chasm, known for its towering Livistonia Palms. Settle into our safari camp for the night, located in the heart of this World Heritage wilderness.

Day 3: Bungle Bungles to Kununurra (B, L)
We travel to the southern side of the Bungle Bungles Massif to take an easy to moderate 3 km walk into the natural amphitheatre setting of Cathedral Gorge, make sure to try out the amazing acoustics within this gorge. While here enjoy the short domes walk allowing you to inspect the Bungle Bungle domes up close. Now there is the opportunity to complete your Bungles experience and see it from the air, on one of the following scenic flight options (additional cost): 


Scenic Helicopter Flight (Bungles to Bungles)
- Experience the thrill of taking off in a helicopter and flying over the Bungles with views into incredible ravines and gorges below. This flight is not to be missed and returns to the Bungles airstrip where you rejoin the group to take the adventurous journey along the Bungles track to Kununurra. Minimum 2 passengers, approximately $265 pp, reservations are accepted while on tour.

Scenic Fixed-Wing Flight (Bungles to Kununurra) - Those who do not want to travel back over the rugged road from the Bungles to Kununurra can take the scenic fixed-wing option. You will be met by a light aircraft at the Bungle Bungles airstrip for aerial sightseeing of the Bungle Bungles, Argyle Diamond Mine, Ord River and massive Lake Argyle before you land in Kununurra. Enjoy free time to explore the town of Kununurra before meeting up with your tour group later that afternoon. Minimum 2 passengers, approximately $285 pp, reservations are recommended at time of booking your 8 day tour and also accepted while on tour.
Overnight: Kununurra Country Club or similar.

Day 4: Kununurra to El Questro Wilderness Park (B, L, D)
Join a fascinating cruise this morning from Kununurra up the Ord River to Lake Argyle; discover the thriving eco-systems and postcard perfect scenery that is otherwise inaccessible. Heading back to Kununurra we visit Ord River Irrigation Scheme plantations and Ivanhoe Crossing, before we set off down the famous Kimberley stock route the "Gibb River Road" to Voyages El Questro Wilderness Park. This afternoon enjoy optional activities (arranged by your guide) such as hike to Emma Gorge (strenuous) or Chamberlain Gorge Cruise.

Day 5: El Questro to Home Valley Station (B, L, D)
Enjoy an early morning walk (easy) to Zebedee Hot Springs, bring your bathers and soak in the thermal springs, surrounded by lush ferns and palms. We briefly rejoin the Gibb River Road passing through the Pentecost Ranges, arriving at Home Valley Station (cattle station/farm) for lunch and our overnight stay in the Grass Castles. Home Valley is ideally located at the foot of the spectacular Cockburn Range and is bordered by the mighty Pentecost and Durack Rivers. This afternoon is free to relax or explore the some 700,000 acres of natural wilderness found on Home Valley Station, including a swim at Bindoola Falls, discover New York Valley or canoe on Bindoola Creek. Otherwise you may like to join one of the stations activities including fishing, horse riding, twitchers tour or the star gazers experience after dinner (own expense, reservations are accepted while on tour). We finish the day with champagne and cheese as you watch the sun set over the Pentecost River and Cockburn Range. Tonight enjoy dinner and some Kimberley hospitality and live music in the legendary Dusty Bar and Grill.
Dinner & Overnight: Home Valley Station, Guesthouse with ensuite.


Day 6: Home Valley to Mount Elizabeth Station (B, L, D)
This morning we have arranged a very special Indigenious art experience and we join one of the Home Valley Rangers who will show us some of the station's Aboriginal art sites. There is time for morning tea at the Station before continuing southwest along the Gibb River Road to Mount Elizabeth Station (cattle station/farm) for our overnight stay. Arriving after lunch we have the opportunity to join a tour of the station settlement and learn about remote cattle station life in the Kimberley. Tonight enjoy some more Kimberley hospitality and a home cooked meal in the station homestead.

Day 7: Mount Elizabeth to Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge (B, L, D)
Today we travel through some of the most stunning scenery found on the Gibb River Road, breaking en route for a hike and swim at Galvans Gorge (20 min easy walk). We then stop at Imintji for lunch and the opportunity to enjoy a scenic helicopter flight to discover Bell Gorge and the ancient King Leopold Ranges (own expense). This flight is sure to impress and bookings are accepted while on tour. Now its time to start our journey into the King Leopold Conservation Park to Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge for our overnight stay. Settle into the beautiful surroundings of what was once a cattle station, we then take a short drive to a vantage point and enjoy champagne and cheese as you watch the sun set over the King Leopold Ranges.

Day 8: Mount Hart to Broome (B, L), arrives 7:30pm
Today travel via the Napier Ranges to Tunnel Creek, an amazing 750 metre flooded tube tunnel. Take an exciting walk wading through the tunnel in knee to thigh high water and hear of the story of the renowned Aboriginal ‘Jandamarra'. Then to pre-historic Windjana Gorge, regarded as one of the classic features of world geology and a great freshwater crocodile spotting site. En route back to Broome we stop at the Prison Boab Tree, arriving approximately 7.30 pm.
